With success rates reaching better than 140% over
the past 7 years, this area has proven itself time and time again.
Alberta Black Bear are abundant. With a population which
normally sits measurably above the sustainable estimate - Hunters
are permitted 2 black bear per year. We hunt our bear in large
stands over bait. You can expect to see several bear during
your time in the stand. So don't rush your shots, and take
your time to choose a bear you'll be happy with. The
bear in this region can vary greatly in color from Black, Chocolate,
Cinnamon, and Blonde. Size can reach well into record book
proportions. It is not uncommon to harvest a bear which makes
Pope & Young placement requirements. In the last 2 years
alone, 65% of the black bear harvested with us were record book
bears. |
